IIRIS Salt Therapy

Salt Therapy Spa is the Irish agent for the Iiris line of halogenerators.  The Iiris range of machines has been manufactured by Indium Top LLC in Estonia since 2002, and is used in approximately 500 salt rooms around the world.

These industry leading generators are essential to the development of a saltroom.  Their function is to grind/granulate the salt down to a particle size of between 1 and 5 micrometers, and then infuse the salt aerosol into the room, based on a predetermined concentration. They are easy to use, effective and dependable. The range varies from a fully manual system (Iiris-50) through to a fully automatic, touchscreen controlled unit (Iiris-38).

Recent developments have also seen the introduction of the self-contained Saltarium Salt Cocoon. This unique product negates the need to build a salt room, allowing for a personal halotherapy treatment, and is suitable for use in any location, from spas to your own home.

Experts including Asthma UK are backing the treatment, called Halotherapy.

Salt therapy claims to work by clearing the airways of mucus and reducing inflammation triggered by allergies to dust, pollen or pollution.

These particles, invisible to the naked eye, penetrate deep into the respiratory system. Minerals including potassium and magnesium are said to help reduce inflammation and clean out mucus blocking the airways.

Experts have already found that asthmatics can breathe easier if they are sent down salt mines.

A Finnish study found that sufferers' lungs were less likely to show allergic "hyper-responsiveness" to their environment
